Covid:19 Update (12.08.2022)

We are now providing routine care including hygiene appointments and examinations to our existing patients and working to catch up on the backlog of appointments. Following updated guidelines from NHS England, we have increased the number of daily appointments and we continue to experience unprecedented demand for dental treatment. Some Covid-19 control measures remain in place; we employ operating procedures to reduce the likelihood of virus spread and our staff test themselves twice weekly for Covid-19 infection. We have installed additional ventilation in treatment rooms to maximise the number of patients we can accommodate.

To enable us to see an increased number of patients we are asking patients to complete and sign their patient paperwork in advance where possible. These documents include a revised health screening questionnaire and are emailed or texted to patients in the form of a link, 48 hours before their appointment. Patients having any concerns about their Covid-19 status should reschedule their appointment and obtain a test. Completion of documents online will reduce the risk of virus transmission by allowing patients to move swiftly through the reception area and avoiding contact with tablets and pens at the desk. We have increased the patient capacity of the waiting room while following current social distancing guidelines. The practice door is now open so patients can come promptly for their appointments rather than waiting outside the front door. Due to a recent surge in Covid-19 cases in the community NHS England requested that we continue to request the wearing of masks, which are provided in reception.

If you have an urgent problem please contact the practice. Our reception staff will ask you some questions regarding you and your household. This is to establish your treatment needs and your medical health status.

We appreciate the ongoing co-operation of our patients.

Jones Dental Practice

Covid:19 Vision Statement

Jones Dental Practice is now offering routine examinations, hygiene appointments and treatment to its patients, as well as offering some emergency appointments to unregistered patients where capacity allows. We anticipate that there will be further phased relaxation of control measures and increases in patient capacity as the Covid-19 situation improves.

In compliance with guidelines from NHS England we are increasing the number of daily appointments to enable a backlog to be cleared and all our patients to be seen. To facilitate this increase in capacity we ask that patients assist us by completing their documentation online wherever possible, paying particular attention to the health screening form which is also displayed in reception. If you are unwell, please inform our reception staff, and they will be happy to reschedule your appointment.

We continue to ask patients to refrain from visiting the practice unless they have an appointment or have been instructed to do so by a member of staff. We still operate a controlled door policy in order to maintain socially distancing in the waiting area. If you are not already an existing patient, please contact 111 if you have a dental emergency. The Lancashire Dental Helpline on 0345 1234 010 can also direct members of the public seeking a dentist.

Thank you for your understanding and please stay safe.
